I Suck, I’m Sorry

When I do things, I don’t go halfway. That includes when I do something right and, unfortunately, when I screw up. Yesterday was one of the latter. I had a huge brain fart and said submissions for the Lost Innocence anthology were closed. Hell, I even updated webpages to reflect the fact that, now that July 15th had passed submissions were no longer being accepted.

The problem, of course, is that it wasn’t July 16th…it was June 16th.

I’ve lots of excuses for my error, but no good reasons. If it weren’t for Ralan sending me a polite email that said ‘Um, what the hell?’ (I’m paraphrasing) I would still be happily oblivious to my mistake.

I’m sorry. Submissions are not closed. I suck, and I promise in July to check the calender three or four times before blithely announcing submissions are close. Five times maybe.

Again, I apologise.

Good heavens! A candid editor and a stylish, thank-God-I-don’t-need-the-latest-flash-player website. You don’t suck, old girl. You’re refreshing. Do you have Gaelic ancestry? I still don’t see how you’re going to read and respond to all the submissions in two weeks. Not unless you haven’t had many.

It will be a very busy two weeks but I’ll manage :)

As for my ancestry, if you go back far enough it’s Gaelic, but you need to go pretty far :) The last four or five generations of my family have been from Canada :)

Sweet! I was wondering why submissions closed a month early.

It happens to everyone from time to time, Rhonda. :)

I don’t consider there to be anything ’sweet’ about references to flatulence, however metaphorical they might be! We English have standards, you know.
