He lost his mind
in the Hall of Shadows
the secret place
in the bowels of the brain
He went in to escape
and never came out
reality left behind
for a make-believe world
He lives there now
among ghosts and demons
he leads them in rituals
as a high priest should
In there he’s a hero
admired, adored
while outside, his body
lies on a cot and drools.
